Just finished up Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It was an incredibly long game, sure got my moneys worth out of this one. Spent way too many hours on this one.

This was one of the toughest strategy games I’ve played. A unique aspect of the Fire Emblems that stands out to me is that if a character dies, they’re dead. No extra lives, bringing them back to death, etc. So you have to really think out you moves, or you’re going to find yourself with no characters. Unless you’re a really big fan of strategy games, you might want to stay away from this one as it’s really difficult. But if you do enjoy a challenge, this title is highly recommended. Just be warned that it’s a very long game.

Just finished collecting all 120 stars, including the damned Luigi’s 100 purple coins. Must’ve taken me at least 50 tries for that level. I’m glad I’m done, this game took too many hours away from me the past few weeks. A truly great game, one of the best games I’ve ever played.

The gameplay was impressive. The way the gravity worked really stood out. Hopping from planet to planet felt really cool, and the variety in levels never made the game seem repetitive. I tip my hat to the folks at Nintendo, they made a great game that appeals to just about anyone, not just hard core gamers.

Buy this game.

With my ankle pretty much shot still, I’ve found myself playing Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure a lot and finally beat it. It was a great game, one of the most original games I’ve played on the Wii. Old PC style adventure game that’s really makes use of the Wii’s unique controller.

The cartooney cel shaded graphics were great. I really liked the art style. And the difficulty of the puzzles was impressive as well. Many of them took numerous attempts and required the use of several Oracle Dolls. The Sea Rabbits are the finest group of pirates, especially world class pilot Johnny Style. Wiki the flying golden monkey who transforms into a bell (it makes sense if you play it) is one of the most loyal and noble sidekicks.

If you own a Wii, I highly recommend this game.

Just finished playing Metriod Prime 3: Corruption for the Wii. It was a really good game, probably the finest game I’ve played on the Wii yet. The controls were the best I’ve ever used for a FPS.

Graphics and sound were consistant with the previous Prime games, with this one closing out the trilogy in style. Theses were the best graphics I’ve seen on the Wii to date. Though it’s the gameplay with the Wiimote and nunchuck that really made this one stand out. Took me about 23 hours to rid the universe of Phazon.

Just got done playing Paper Mario. It was originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 2001, but I downloaded it on the Wii Virtual Console. It was a really good RPG. Game play was between 25-30 hours. Well worth the download.

Just finished playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Virtual Console on Wii). I never really played the Super Nintendo too much way back when so figured I’d download this and give it a shot. As is the case will the Zelda games I’ve played this one was a very good game.

It was fun playing an old 16 bit sprite based game. It’s amazing how many of the elements in the newer Zelda and all games for that matter carry over from this game. They’re pretty much just newer updated versions of this game. I’m trying to figure out why I didn’t play this when it was originally released back in 1991.
