Finally added some things I’ve worked on in the past the the work page of this site. Right now I broke things up into four categories:
- websites
- interactive projects
- animations
- videos
Square finally released Final Fantasy III in the US on the DS a year or so ago. I grew up playing the Final Fantasy games and was glad to finally have the chance to play it as it was only released in Japan back in 1990. All the graphics had been redone for the DS and the game looked great.
They sure don’t make RPG’s this difficult anymore. I just barely beat the final boss, thought it had me. The job system was very cool, and must’ve been an amazing addition when this game was originally released in 1990.
Just saw the biggest moth I’d ever seen. Stood up from my desk to take a gander out the window and noticed something pretty big stuck to the screen on Sean’s window. At first I just asked him if he had a leaf stuck between his window and the screen. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a huge moth. I took a pretty bad photo with my phone, but it might give you an idea of just how big it was.
We opened up the window and set the massive moth free.
I had the day off on Thursday, and the college was having a rummage sale. So since I wasn’t around Sean thought it’d be funny if he bought the most hideous thing possible and placed it in my office while I was away. Apparently Brittney who was taking part in the great rummage sale let Sean know that they had just the perfect thing to place in my office.
As of this writing I still haven’t seen it, but apparently it was some hideous looking painting by some well known Scientologist or something.  This fine work of art was purchased at the rummage sale for $5.  Out of curiosity the painting was then researched online.  Apparently this appalling gag gift fetches around $700!Â
Not a bad profit.  Looks like somebody didn’t do their homework before selling off this exquisite piece of Scientology art.  The painting has plans of being sold with the profits going to a noble cause.
Finished playing maybe the best game nobody has heard of, Okami.  Visually it was one of the coolest games I’ve ever played.  The art is all done in a watercolor technique, it’s very unique and pretty cool to look at.  The story is loosely based on Japanese fairy tales.
The games plays very similar to a Zelda game. Â At first it was a little awkward for me, it uses the Wii remote to mimic drawing brush techniques on the screen. Â At first the gestures were a bit awkward for me, but after playing it a bit they became second nature. Â
This was an amazing game, and is highly recommended. Â Issun is a noble little guy.
Picked up a Wii Fit on Friday at EB Games. Â Got the last one. Â Getting the last anything from a store always seems cool to me. Â When I got home from work I figured I’d fire it up and give it a shot. Â
It starts you off by selecting your Mii (I haven’t been able to make one that looks like me) then asks you to stand of the balance board so that it can test you out. Â The balance board weights you and measures your center of balance. Â My balance was off to the left a bit but not too far from center.
It then gives you some balance tests. Â I had to stand on one leg and balance for a bit. Â This test showed me that I can’t really stand on one leg to save my life. Â Then another balance test had you have to lean left or right to line up your balance in some boxes. Â This one was a bit easier for me. Â It then gave me my Wii Fit age of a whopping 50 years old! Â I was a bit disappointed by this.
I’ve been doing many of the examples, determined to get my age much lower than 50. Â I can now kinda balance on one leg, still gotta work on that a bit more. Â The strength exercise I’m great at, with perfect 100 scores in most cases. Â So I still have some dignity left.
This morning one day 5 of Wii Fit, I’ve lost almost 6 pounds (don’t know how that happened) and my Wii Fit age was 31! Â So I’m glad that I’m no longer 50 and can now almost balance on one leg. Â Overall I’m very much impressed with this, while I won’t stop going to the gym several times a week. Â It does do a good job of working in many balance and flexibility exercises I’d like to incorporate into my routine.
